I am a house wife and mom and I love my job. My son, Judah, is almost 2 years old and our second baby is a girl. River Joy is due in 9 weeks. I just found out that I have high blood sugar. I was 3 points away from being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so my doctor suggested that I follow the diet.
My parents and grandparents are all type 2 diabetics. This is the wake up call that I need to change my path off of the diabetes track. I diet on and off and try to eat healthy most of the time, but I also cheat a lot. I will typically eat a healthy grilled meat with fresh veggies and multigrain bread, but then I want to make brownies or eat ice cream before I go to bed.
This blog was started to help me keep track of what I’m eating. Maybe one day I will share it with someone who needs the encouragement of what to eat on the gestational diabetes diet.
